INFORMATION
HOW DOES A RACE NIGHT WORK?
There are many things to consider when you plan a race night for example:
- Obtaining Race Sponsorship.
- Arranging Prizes and Raffles.
- Organising Tickets.
- The Venue and Publicity.
- Selling Horse Ownerships and Extras.
- The list goes on!!
On booking your charity race night with us, we will send you a confirmation pack along with a sample race program to gain your sponsors, event posters and any of the side betting options you have chosen for the evening.
On running a race event to raise funds you might want to consider selling entrance tickets. Ensure that people understand the purpose of the event is to raise money for good causes. If you are charging for entrance tickets, you may also wish to consider putting on something extra like a buffet to make the ticket price more attractive.
We will arrive an hour before the start of the evening possibly a bit earlier if we have not seen the venue before.
We suggest a 7:30pm start with the first race at 7:45pm.
As the guests start to arrive the race cards will be handed out and the compere will start to promote the evening and start selling any of the evenings extras which you have not managed to sell ( owner & Jockey, forecast sheets etc ).
Tote sales start 15 mins before the first race (7:45). Each tote ticket cost £1.00 and there are 8 horses in each race. The compere will announce after each race how many winning tickets there were and how much each one is worth.
In between each race we normally keep the crowds entertained by showing the history of horse racing or a music dvd.
